Accessibility description

Full wheelchair access is available from the courtyard. Access is also possible through the left-hand entrance. No accessibility solutions are provided for people with visual or hearing impairments.
Toompea Castle is accessible to visitors with mobility impairments. Wheelchair users can access the most important areas, including the gallery of the Riigikogu Chamber, the Riigikogu Conference Hall, the White Hall and most of the working areas. However, not all working areas are accessible to people with mobility impairments. When planning a visit, please consult the person inviting you or contact info@riigikogu.ee.

A step-free ramp leads to the left-hand exterior entrance of Toompea Castle. A video intercom panel is located next to the door at wheelchair height, allowing visitors to contact the security staff. A staff member will then come to meet the visitor with a mobility impairment and escort them into the building. All Riigikogu visitors may move around the castle only accompanied by a staff member. Wheelchair users can enter the castle grounds through the vehicle gate.

If a visitor with a mobility impairment arrives at Toompea Castle Square by taxi, the taxi can stop in a designated pull-in area next to the exit of the closed parking area. From there, the visitor must make their own way to the castle entrance. Visitors arriving by car, like all other visitors, must obtain a parking permit in advance. Security staff allow vehicles to enter and park in the square only with a valid permit.

Toompea Castle has an accessible toilet, two lifts and two platform lifts for moving between different parts of the building.
