Tallinn is building new pedestrian and bicycle paths along the Marta ditch in the city center.

At the request of the Tallinn Environmental and Municipal Utilities Board, construction work will begin in April along the Marta ditch to build illuminated pedestrian and bicycle paths, tidy up the area around the ditch, and improve the accessibility of the area.

During the construction, which will begin in April, illuminated roads will be built from the Tondi Street railway crossing to Marta Street, making movement convenient and safe for all city residents and helping to connect important streets.

In addition, two small recreation areas with benches, trash cans and bike racks will be created. The design uses boulders and logs, which serve as railings, seating and play elements.
